Meet our Ambassadors: Jonathan Lucroy
Every week, we will introduce you to one of our Brand Ambassadors. This week: all-star catcher Jonathan Lucroy.
The 9-season Big Leagues veteran signed with Oakland this past offseason, after playing with Milwaukee, Texas, and Colorado. Lucroy was drafted in the third round in 2007 by Milwaukee, with whom he started his Big Leagues career in 2010. That same year, he started swinging B45 yellow birch bats. He spent 7 seasons in Milwaukee before being traded to Texas at the trade deadline in 2016.
His best season came in 2014, when he batted .301, with 13 home runs and a record-setting 53 doubles in a single season, that still holds today.
He was named twice to the All-Star roster, in 2014 and 2016. In 2014, he finished 4th in the MVP voting.
In 2014, he became the first official ambassador with B45. The JL20r, a model based on his game model, the JL20, was then created and is still one of the most popular bats in our lineup.
The Eustis, FL-native also helped USA to win the 2017 World Baseball Classic.
This season, Lucroy and his teammates are battling for a spot in the postseason. After 78 games, he shows a .243 batting average, with 14 doubles, 2 home runs and 32 RBIs.
